Assertiveness in the wordplace is a charachter trait taught by many professional employment experts and psychologists. Assertiveness is directly connected to individual self-esteem and is widely considered an important communication skill in the workplace environement.
An assertive mode of personal behavior manifests itself as an ability to interact with others while firmly standing up for your own beliefs. Being assertive is to one's benefit most of the time but it does not mean that one always gets what he/she wants. The result of being assertive is that; You feel good about yourself while others know how to deal with you.
