Selective Attention


The cognitive process of selectively which involves focusing on a specific aspect of an issue, object, or activity, while ignoring all other aspects. An example of selective attention is purposely paying attention to someone you are speaking with, while in a crowded room. How long you maintain this focus is referred to as “attention span.”
