Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia and is generally diagnosed in individuals over 65 years of age. However, it can set in much earlier. The most commonly recognized symptom in the early stages is memory loss followed by other key cognitive functions. While treatable to some extent, Alzheimer’s is an incurable, degenerative, and terminal disease. Named after German psychiatrist and neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer in 1906, today more than an estimated 30 million people worldwide suffer from Alzheimer's.
