Improve Assertiveness at School

Improving assertiveness at school has for many years been seen by school psychologists as the cornerstone or junction of a students path to success or failure. Positive assertiveness leads to higher levels of learning, whilst negative assertiveness is directly linked to poor behaviour and lower test scores.

Education has always been seen as a fundamentally optimistic human endeavour characterised by aspirations for progress and betterment. It is understood by many to be a means of overcoming handicaps, achieving greater equality and acquiring wealth and social status. Education is perceived as a place where children can develop according to their unique needs and potential. It is also perceived as one of the best means of achieving greater social equality. Many would say that the purpose of education should be to develop every individual to their full potential and give them a chance to achieve as much in life as their natural abilities allow.

Giving students the tools to raise their levels of assertiveness in a socialy tolerant manner is the challenge of both parents and educational institutions. Through this challenge MIND360 has developed a range of online brain games that both challenge and reward positive play.
