When Jake Spalding was forced into a career change in March 2009 due to the effects of the global recession he thought his old life was over, his days were in taters and he'd lost the bright and rosey future he'd once planned so meticulously for himself and his family.
At only 37 with 15 years corporate investment banking under his belt finding a new job should have been easy, though with banks collapsing and contracting there was little chance of this.
As he tells the story, his wife happened accross MIND360 Brain Games on twitter one grey and gloomy afternoon. She convinced him to sign up to keep his mind active while he looked for work. 6 week later he was not only hooked and achieving new high scores almost every day, but his new level of alertness and mental felxibily led him in a new direction.
Today Jake sees life brighter and better. He started a homebased business in web design consultancy, working with ex fellow finaciers helping them put together dynamic and engaging websites for their client bases.
If it were not for MIND360 Jake would not have had the confidence or ability to make such a bold decision to change his career direction, especially at such a pivotal moment.
