A personal story from someone at the heart of MIND360 development. My name is Alf Barnett, a 51 year old son of a famous World War II veteran from the UK. This is my story (the abridged version).
After the war, my parents were quick to recover economically, they saw this as the cornerstone of emotional recovery. Growing up in post-war Britain with rationing and national unity was a special time. Talk of the war and front line battles were banned from my house, dinner time was reserverd for only optimistic chatter about the future.
My father ran a successful suit and fancy attire shop in the East End of London while my mother taught Maths and English to underprivalidged children in the community.
My own career begun as a teacher and headmaster in private london schools, though as I reached so-called retirement age I took it upon myself to extend my working years. It was then I found out about, joined, played and got involved with (at corporate level) MIND360.com. I don't see myself retiring for some time yet, as long as we keep producing these scientifically proven brain training games, I see no reason to hang up my mind and call it a day. I feel I have too much still to give, to much of the community needs our help in feel better, more confidence and mentally healthier.
